Biographical information

Lei received his Bachelor’s degree from Hainan University in China. Afterward, he had worked in the Yaneng biotechnology company for one year in Shenzhen. In 2009, he started to pursue further study on biology at Tsinghua University, China. After receiving his master’s degree from there and working in the Microprofit Electronics company (Shenzhen) for the short term, he moved to Germany for his PhD study on Optogenetics in 2013. He completed his doctoral project at Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen, where he studied “Optical control of primary rat cortical neural activity in vitro” under the supervision of Dr. Vanessa Maybeck and Prof. Dr. Andreas Offenhäusser.
