Talk title: Understanding and mitigating sensory overload
Abstract: Our research indicates that brain waves serve distinct functions. High-frequency waves carry sensory data, while low-frequency waves act as control signals. The interplay between these waves regulates sensory processing and control mechanisms. Imbalances in this system may contribute to neuropsychiatric disorders. Excessive high-frequency activity could lead to attention issues or sensory overload, while insufficient high-frequency activity might be linked to psychosis. We’re working to understand the role of brain waves and how balancing them could provide treatments for various neuropsychiatric conditions.
