Biographical information

Yang Zhou received a bachelor’s degree in medicine and a Ph.D. in neurobiology in China. In 2011, he joined Guoping’s lab at McGovern Institute, first as a Postdoctoral Fellow, then as a Research Scientist. At MIT, he was awarded to join the first cohort of Simons Postdoctoral Fellow, co-mentored by Dr. Feng Zhang and Dr. Guoping Feng. In 2019, he was recruited by Montreal Neurological Institute and McGill University to serve as an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. He is currently a chairholder of Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Genetic Engineering for Neurodevelopmental Disorders from 2019 to 2029. At McGill, his group aims to deepen the understanding of Autism and severe forms of Neurodevelopmental Disorders. The goal of his group is to provide findings and knowledge that may accelerate the development of therapies through conducting experimental research in pre-clinical models.
