Biographical information

As a neuroscientist, I have general interests in understanding how different cell types contribute to brain processes at the molecular level, particularly in relation to mental health and neuropsychiatric disorders. A native of Illinois, I majored in biochemistry at Augustana College, where I worked with Dr. Pam Trotter on fatty acid metabolism in yeast. In my Ph.D. research with Dr. Bob Thompson at the University of Michigan, I characterized glucocorticoid-mediated mRNA regulation in astrocytes.
