Leia Amarra joined the Simons Center in August of 2015. Leia graduated from Bentley College (now Bentley University) with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of Science in Finance. She first worked for MIT in 2006 as a Financial Assistant II in ASO serving Chemical Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Center for Biomedical Engineering. After a short stint in the corporate world working as a Financial Analyst at Digitas, Leia vowed never to work in the corporate world again! She came back to MIT as a Financial Administrator in the department of Biology. In 2014, Leia became the Fiscal Officer of Brain and Cognitive Sciences.
As the Fiscal Officer of the SCSB, Leia is responsible for fiscal reporting and top-level projections for the center. She also manages the active accounts for award structures, closeouts and modifications. For any award related fiscal questions, free to contact her.
